It is very rare for me to prefer someone else’s version of a Stevie Wonder song. I had been a fan of his music since he was known as ‘Little Stevie Wonder’. By 1973, I had also been a fan of Aretha Franklin for a long time too. She had been around since the late 1950s, and by the time I was 14, I already knew the work of the lady who was soon to explode onto the scene with such tracks as ‘Respect’, ‘Chain Of Fools’, and ‘Think’.
