Don’t you really know what you want? Or you actually know, yet you can’t afford?

Many times, I have been asked about what I really want to be, and if I can remember correctly, each time, I answered “I do not know.” But little do they know, that what my answer was a white lie. It could be true, though, for some people to not know what they really want to or to do, because there are a couple of things they want to do they end up being unable to start one thing. But for me, I actually know what I want. I want to say I want to be a cook.  I want to be an entrepreneur.   1. Hi, I wonder if you can help.
    I’m writing a scene for a novel in which two people have to catch a freight train out of New York City in 1870.
    They walk to the freight yard from somewhere around the ferry to what was then Blackwell’s Island (now Roosevelt Island, which was on Fifty Eighth Street.
    I need to know where the freight yard was, and if possible, if they could realistically hop a freight train from there.

    1. Blackwell Island was renamed Roosevelt Island in 1935.

      Railroads did not seem to go on East Side of NY then (and now). More probable was someplace on West Side. Will try and find a better place for you.
