In response to… Standing Rock

I support all those brave people at Standing Rock. They are protecting their land- our land. And they are standing for much more than one stretch of land that they hold dear – they are standing for every bit of land on this earth.

They are taking a stand for all of the ways our earth has been abused so far, and how it must end now, before we ruin it completely.

They are taking a stand for our human rights. Our right to have an opinion about something and let it be known, and to feel our own power. And that we do not just have to lay down and die every time someone in power snaps their fingers.

They are making sacrifices for all of us. I respect that and I value that. I honour them here.

I was unfortunate,

I was hapless,

I was luckless,

I was ill-starred,

I was ill-fated

Every of my female folks talk of their dignity,

Their stratum,

Their caste,

I am ashamed,

I am in dismay.

That night,

My fault,

It was good to follow a friend home,

I thought,

Now i am ashamed,

Now i am in dismay

To step up again,

Very difficult,

To be called a woman someday,

Seems impossible,

But i am still a lady,

“I have been disciplined”

My new dignity.

This is for every female who have been sexually harassed or who have lost their inalienable pride (virginity) you shouldn’t feel stigmatized from your friends. Your dignity still rest within, try to see life beautiful with sanity without virginity.

Friday March 17: Syracuse Crunch

Borna Rendulic struck first with 6:38 remaining in the opening period, firing a wrist shot past Mike McKenna for his 12th goal of the year. Pelletier celebrated his 800th pro game by extending the Comets lead to 2-0 with five minutes to go in the middle frame. The lead was cut to 2-1 towards the end of the second.

Four minutes into the final period, Darren Archibald restored the two-goal lead for the Comets on the power play to earn his team leading 20th goal of the year.Three minutes later, the Crunch scored two goals within 31 seconds to tie the game. One minute later after the pair of goals, Mike Zalewski scored the game winning goal, tipping a point shot from Jordan Subban for his fourth goal of the season. Thatcher Demko finished with 35 saves for his eighth straight win and improve his record to 17-11-4.


Saurday March 18 Bridgeport Sound Tigers

The Sound Tigers struck twice in the first period with goals from Andrew Rowe and Tanner Fritz. After a scoreless second period, Carter Verhaeghe extended the Bridgeport lead to a 3-0 score 4:27 into the final period. Evan McEneny tallied the lone goal for the Comets with a power play goal. The Sound Tigers solidified the win with an empty net goal.

Thatcher Demko’s record dropped to 17-12-4 with 24 stops. The loss ended his win streak at eight games.
